Yes, I Am Really THE Angel Cove!

by Shannon on December 7, 2009

Hello in ScriptIt amazes me every time I talk about my husband’s double lung transplant and the reaction from the other person as I mention the Angel Cove Organ Donation Awareness Shop. As soon as the name of my website leaves my lips, the other person’s eyes get big and the next very excited words are often: “You’re Angel Cove??”

Yes, I guess you can say that I am Angel Cove. It is a one-woman awareness shop where I create the designs for my products but also put them on the products, do the web development for the site, write the newsletters, handle the accounting and so forth. Of course, the website was designed by my very creative friend Peon Productions and I do have a number of featured artists throughout the site, but yes, I am Angel Cove.

I hear/read things like:

“I still can’t believe you’re Angelcove. That’s so cool.”

“Wow! I am so proud of what you have accomplished in honor of your husband -incredible! God bless him -receiving the gift of life -amazing… It is my privilege to ‘meet you’.”

Really? Me? I mean I don’t feel like I am doing anything special. To me it is all about paying it forward and not forgetting how far we have come in such a short 5 years. If it were not for organ donation and transplantation, I would have become a widow at the tender age of 30. Although I would have mourned and continued on with my life, it would not be as full or as rich as it is today with my husband by my side.

It is humbling to think of the impact Angel Cove has had on the lives of others and how our new 100% charitable giving will impact organ transplant recipients and their families during their time of need. I could not have imagined what Angel Cove would become when I opened up my shop in 2004. And to think, Angel Cove was simply created out of my own personal need for a personalized organ donation awareness sweatshirt. One can only imagine what tomorrow will bring for the Angel Cove Organ Donation Awareness Shop… and I am looking forward to the ride in helping others realize their own transplant miracle!
